A former Batley Boys art teacher and a retired housing manager are among the artists featured in Dewsbury Arts Group’s spring exhibition.
The show at Batley Art Gallery includes 69 pieces in a range of styles, media and techniques.
Morley-based Dennis Palmer, who has several paintings in the show, has focused on his artwork since retiring as a teacher in the early 90s.

“I explore the nature of human existence and definitions of reality”, he said.
“The work presented in this year’s DAG exhibition touches on issues of illusion, vertical time and simply just trying to understand it all.”
Gallery exhibition co-ordinator Mark Milnes said: “Dewsbury Arts Group’s exhibitions are always amongst our most popular.”
The exhibition is at the gallery until April 12.
